As homecoming approaches, the sophomores and freshmen showed their class spirit on their dress-up day today by wearing costumes inspired by from their respective TV channels.

The class of 2020 chose Warner Bros. for their TV theme. Majority of the freshmen wore superhero costumes. Freshman spirit coordinator Adhya Hoskote (9) dressed up as Superman to support her class.

“I dressed up as Superman because we freshmen are [everything], if not super,” Adhya said.

The sophomores dressed up as characters from Disney Channel. Popular costumes included Kim Possible, Stitch, both Mickey and Minnie Mouse and characters from Winnie the Pooh.

“I dressed up as Winnie the Pooh as he is my favorite Disney Channel character, and his loving and kind personality inspires me to take more time to enjoy the sweet things in life,” Matthew Hajjar (10) said.

During long lunch, all four classes came together for the spirit parade from Nichols to the quad. In the quad, they met to showcase their chants and participate in a scream-off. The seniors won the scream off, leaving sophomores in last place.

“Well I’m kind of sad, but I know that the sophomores are going to come out on top and show a lot of spirit during homecoming,” Aditi Anthapur (10) said.

Tomorrow the juniors will dress up as characters from Nickelodeon shows, and Friday is Cartoon Network day for the seniors to show their spirit.
