Many different styles of fashion were showcased by celebrities at the 87th Oscars, at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Some highlights of the evening included ensembles from Emma Stone, Lupita Nyong’o, Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore.

Emma Stone wore a long sleeved, acid green traditional, floor-length gown which had sequins and glitter all over it. The dress designed by Elie Saab, included a leg cutout and swooped down in the back.

Lupita Nyong’o also showed up on the carpet with an amazing outfit as well. Though she was not nominated this year, she still made a successful attempt to dress beautifully by wearing a floor-length, white, pearl studded dress with a deep v-neck cut and small cutout in the front. The back was gown was braided and had pearls running along it. It was custom made by Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein and the outfit allegedly had 6,000 pearls bejeweled on the top.

Another glamorous look of the evening was that of Reese Witherspoon. The “Legally Blonde” actress, who was nominated for her role in “Wild,” simply wore a white gown with black detailing and accents.The accents were placed around her shoulders and waists.

The famous designer Tom Ford designed her look.

Julianne Moore won best actress for her role in “Still Alice,” where she played an Alzheimer’s victim. Moore looked stunning on the red carpet. She wore a Chanel Haute Couture sleeveless, floral, white gown with embroideries and black embellishments. The charcoal-colored stones were placed on the chest, hip, and ankle areas of her dress.

Overall, the Academy Awards red-carpet, lighted up with new looks from celebrities. The next awards show, which is more light-hearted, is the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards taking place on Saturday, March 28.
