On Friday, September 16, the sophomore class held its first fundraiser of the school year, selling ice cream sundaes after school to make money for class spirit supplies and savings for senior year activities.

As in past years, the sophomore class raises funds through food sales, and this year’s sophomore class is getting an early start to fundraising.

“This is a mark of a new year, where sophomores have to capitalize on food fundraisers,” said sophomore treasurer Rohith Bhethanabotla (10). “We need to focus on selling [food] this year, when we can make the most money.”

As the class expected, its ice cream was a big hit, with students from every grade crowding around the stand to buy the sweet treat by itself, with root beer, or with toppings.
“[The ice cream] was really worth the money, and I really enjoyed it,” said Samir Chaudhry (10).

Keanu Forbes (9), agreed with Samir in that the ice cream was refreshing and good, but Sean Knudsen (10) thought it might have been a little overpriced, with each scoop costing one dollar.
The sophomore class is planning more food sales every one to two weeks to raise funds for the class.
