Keller’s Korner – September 16

Kellers Korner - September 16

This week consisted of the intergrade dodgeball games, a varsity water polo home game, and the first club meetings.“I like the excitement about dodgeball because it involves more people. Also, the polo match was pretty exciting, seeing kids getting involved and teachers getting involved,” said Butch Keller, Upper School Division Head.

The first spirit event of the year, the dodgeball games, played in three heats, consisted of seniors against freshmen and juniors against sophomores. During Wednesday long lunch, grades prepared themselves for the games by dressing in class colors. The first game resulted in a victory for the seniors; however, the winner of the second game was unclear, and a rematch will be held next Wednesday. Led by team captains Cole Manaster (12) and Akshay Ramachandran (12), the varsity polo team played one away and one home game this week. Though both resulted in close losses, the team put up a fight, with final scores of 8-11 and 11-12 respectively.

Most clubs hosted their first all member meetings this week. Among these was the Bio-Gardening Club. According to Club President Katherine Woodruff (11), their plans for this year involve more gardening in the green house, conducting labs throughout the year, as well as potentially purchasing a club animal such as a gecko.

Events to look forward to next week include a tennis match, the final dodgeball game between faculty and students, as well as the sophomore ropes course field trip.
