Apple is in development of a vehicle, currently known as project Titan. The car is projected to be released by the year 2020.

Tech giant Apple is creating a prototype of an electric car for more than a year behind the scenes.

In a description of the company’s activities, Apple recently added the topic of “vehicles”, hinting towards the creation of an automobile. The corporation hired experts in the automobile industry recently to develop their project

The vehicle project named Titan supposedly resembles a minivan. Entering the car market along with Google’s self-driving car makes automotive executives worried. Some of them considered partnering with them in their endeavours.

Tesla Motors has shown the feasibility of overcoming the difficulties when entering the automobile industry, which possibly encouraged Apple to take part in the industry. Nobody knows specific features of the car as of now, though some speculated its appearance based on general descriptions of project Titan. With its recent profit, Apple definitely the funding for such a project. Mobile devices such as the Apple Watch or the iPhone can communicate with the vehicle.

Even with its success of a $1 trillion valuation on the market, Apple’s success in the industry remains undetermined.

“It depends on the features or specialities of the car,” Shasvat Jawahar (10) said. If its significantly more advanced, I can see people buying it as a high end car, but otherwise I don’t see it competing with the bigger companies.”

Apple has projected the release of its car by 2020. Coincidentally, Google reported this January they project five years until they finalize a self-driving car fit for the road.
