“There's a fine line in the duality of thought between not thinking too much and constantly thinking. It's always good to have confidence in your own abilities, but being open to everything that people are saying and approaching things with an open mind is great toward not only understanding other people's perspectives but also honing in on my own knowledge," Charles Ding ('22) said.

“A lot of times, sports is considered an escape from the classroom; however, at the same time, the mentality I developed in sports where I learned a balance of teamwork and competitiveness myself taught me that sometimes I need to fight for myself. Everyone has a gripe about something. Through computer science, I've been able to express my solutions to some of those problems," Raymond Xu (12) said.

“[Baseball's] a game of failure. There's always going to be off-days or off-weeks or months. I try to enjoy what I'm doing and how I get to wherever I end up. As long as the journey is enjoyable, even if some things don't go right, it'll still be worth it," Bobby Wang (12) said.

“Elon Musk said, 'If you need inspiring words, don't do it.' I don't like doing things that I don't want to do because you're not going to have the drive to actually complete it to the very end. I feel like a lot of people don't have enough passion or interest in things; they're doing it because other people are doing it or because you're told to. If you want to do it personally, then you're going to do it a lot better than if you're told to,” Jason Kwok (12) said.

“What I learned through Tri-M [is that] the idea of community service is often more complex than it should be. I think it's something a lot more simple. Community service to me isn't about solving Earth's greatest problems; it's just finding something that resonates with me and doing that because it brings me joy, and through that, it brings other people joy too,” Jeffrey Yang (12) said.

“[Leading robotics] has been just like the same attitude I've approached everything [with] recently. It’s taught me that most people don't actually know what they're doing, and it's the people that are willing to admit that they don't know what they're doing and try to learn that do the best,” Sanjay Rajasekharan (12) said.

“[Music is] a creative and positive outlet for my free time. I could go and waste time on social media, or I can put it into something productive that I feel tangible results [from]. That's really what music and frankly all of my projects from motorcycles to disassembling watches...are for me,” Thomas Rainow (12) said.
