Irina Malyugina (11) is the photo editor of Harker Aquila and the Winged Post. This is her third year on staff. She has a passion for visual storytelling and would love to expand her knowledge of videography this year. Outside of the journalism room, Irina enjoys computer science, dance and creative writing.

“I like learning weird stuff about Shintoism and communism. No one is going to test me on that ever, but I still do it just because it's cool to know, it's fun to know, and currently I haven't explored myself enough to really know why I think it's fun. I'm not sure if I will [ever know], partially because I've stopped caring that that question is important. I've recognized that my love of China or East Asia and my interest in academia is just something ingrained in my person, and I don't think it's necessary to explore why that is because I know that it just is,” Logan Bhamidipaty (12) said.

"Robotics started as my first exposure to the campus. It was a big part of my first few interactions at the school, but I think I almost immediately gravitated towards the teaching and collaboration aspect of it. And I think that's what makes me tick: building things, big or small, with others. I think it's better to be valuable to a group of people or a team than famous in the whole world," Joel Manning (12).
