A spirit rally that included class dances and inter-class competitions closed out Spirit Week after sixth period today. At the rally, the spirit team announced that the seniors had earned the most spirit points and won the annual spirit competition, followed by the juniors, sophomores and freshmen in that order. Upper school assistant athletics director Alfredo Alves also received the Spirit award for his role in organizing many spirit events this past year.

The rally opened with the freshman and sophomore classes’ dances, with the freshmen dancing to the theme of Earth and the sophomores the theme of air.

Then, students participated in the first competition of the rally, in which students raced to form letters, numbers or symbols with their bodies. After a tie-breaker with the juniors, the seniors won the first competition of the rally. Seniors also won the drag race that followed, with juniors coming in second, sophomores third and freshmen last. Finally, the freshmen came in first in the puzzle relay, while sophomores got second and juniors and seniors tied for third.

After the juniors and seniors performed their dance routines, to the respective themes of water and air, the faculty judges scored the dances, with the juniors in first, followed by the seniors, sophomores and freshmen. Faculty members from each class sang the correct song in the “Sing that Song” competition.
