Lucy Ge, Aquila Co-Managing Editor

Lucy Ge (12) is the co-managing editor of Harker Aquila with a focus on equity and outreach, and this is her fourth year on staff. Through journalism, she aims to seek out overlooked voices and give them a platform to be heard. Outside of school hours, she can be found spending time with her cat named Peaches (whom Lucy likes to call “bunny”), penny boarding at sunset or listening to her current favorite songs on repeat.

"I want to bring a lot of these topics that are more difficult to talk about, or taboo, to life. I want to incorporate my advocacy for these important issues in my goal as a performer and with the way that I give art to the world. I want to make the lonely feel heard," Callie Mayer ('22) said.

“I don't really have grand aspirations to change the world. I just want to make something that will impact other people and make them reflect and think about their lives the way that media has made me reflect thinking about my life, whether it's a painting or it's a game," Gloria Zhu (12) said.

That also made me want to be with people, wherever I was. I wanted to have friends and know people, know teachers, talk with others about experiences or just have fun," Clarice Wang (12) said.

“I want to be remembered as a person who made people feel more positive. There's so much going on in life all the time, but when you step back, the most meaningful parts are when you feel happy when someone is there. So I just want people to feel like I made a little happy difference in their life,” Claire Luo (12) said.

“I want to be known for more than being a good singer; [I want to be known for] being a good mentor to other people in the Conservatory. You can have a whole bunch of talent, but are you going to keep it to yourself, or are you going to use that to help other people? I want to be remembered for helping people get better with their own musicianship,” Meilin Yen (12) said.
