The Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls Cross Country teams both qualified for the Central Coast Section Finals at the WBAL League Finals on Friday at 2.9 mile Crystal Springs course in Hillsborough.
The Varsity Boys team was the fourth of six schools to qualify for the CCS Finals with top runner Proteek Biswas (11) coming in eighth place with a time of 17 minutes and 12 seconds.
Fourth of seven schools, the Varstiy Girls team also qualified for CCS with Claudia Tischler (9) earning the fifth place position with a time of 19 minutes and 45 seconds.
After finding out that the team had qualified, sophomore Adrienne Mendel said, “I was so excited and happy that we made it to CCS. When the official told us we were going, Ragini [Bhattacharya (10)] and I were literally jumping up and down we were so excited.”
