Sharanya Balaji

Sharanya Balaji, Editor-In-Chief

Sharanya Balaji (12) is the Editor-In-Chief for Harker Aquila and has been on staff for the past three years. Additionally, during her freshman year she was a reporter for the yearbook TALON. Sharanya has attended two journalism conferences - 2013 Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association (JEA/NSPA) State Convention in Sacramento, California, where she was recognized for her write-off entry, and the 2014 NSPA Fall Convention in D.C. Along with reporting and editing, Sharanya is also a professional Indian classical dancer and teacher at her dance company located in Cupertino and Morgan Hill. Sharanya is also the founder of the organization, STEAMForward, which is designed to not only provide arts programs for underprivileged and disadvantaged schools but also incorporate engaging academic activities in their after school curricula. Besides hunting down ledes and tracking sources, she enjoys watching White Collar, choreographing crazy dances, and laughing with family and friends.
