The varsity boys basketball team (7-17) fell 63-28 at home in a senior night matchup against Woodside Priory last Tuesday.

Prior to tipoff, the team held a ceremony honoring each of 10 seniors, including team managers Griffin Crook, Adhya Hoskote and Caroline Yager; and players Kevin Chen, Jack Connors, Giovanni Rofa, Vance Vu, Naveen Mirapuri, Jeffrey Liu and Vedant Sundaram. Seniors were presented with bouquets from the team and had the chance to take pictures with coaches and family.

The game began with an 11-0 Priory run, aided by some strong three-point shooting that set the tone for the rest of the matchup. Harker’s first points came midway into the game, as Arjun Virmani (11) hit an open three-pointer to bring the score to 11-3.

The Eagles continued a strong run heading into the second quarter, bringing the score to within two points at 15-13 with five minutes left in the half. However, Priory responded with a run of their own, and both teams headed into the locker room with the score at 26-15 in favor of the Panthers.

Bringing more strong defense in the second half, Priory outscored Harker 21-6 in the third quarter and 16-7 in the fourth, as the Eagles lost 63-28, bringing their overall record to 7-15. The boys will next compete in the first round of CCS playoffs next Friday, hosting Design Tech (11-12) at 4 p.m.
