Nearly the entire student body participated in school related events this week as a result of Student Council and Honor Council elections; additionally, this week featured the Interact club as well as the Varsity girls softball team.

After listening to Associated Student Body (ASB) speeches on Wednesday, April 17, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors voted for their chosen candidates on Friday during lunch. The candidates are as follows: Rohith Bhethanabotla (11) for treasurer, Vincent Lin (11) for secretary, Sahithya Prakash (11) for Vice-President, and Arjun Goyal (11) and Sarah Bean (10) for president. Results will be announced at Monday’s school meeting. Meanwhile, sophomores also listened to a total of 17 candidates’ speeches for the Honor Council on Tuesday and Thursday, three of whom will be selected as representatives.

During its club week, the Interact club raised money for Room to Read, an organization that will allow it to contribute a donation towards building libraries and schools in Bangladesh. From Pinkberry frozen yogurt to Five Guys burgers to baked goods, the club held a variety of fundraisers throughout the week.

Currently undefeated in league, the Varsity girls softball team has a season record of 8-4. The team won against Alma Heights Christian during a home game on Tuesday, April 16, with a strong score of 11-1. Its next game is against Menlo School on Tuesday, April 23.
