Upper school students and parents attended the annual Conservatory Kickoff meeting hosted by the performing arts department in the Patil Theater today.

“This is our one time a year for parents and students that we come together as a unit, as a group, as an entire conservatory to talk about who we are, what we stand for on a day to day basis, and that extends to the classroom, to after school, to performances and to the certificate program,” said K-12 Performing Arts Director Laura Lang-Ree. “Those are all parts of what it means to be in this giant family that is you, in the conservatory program.”

Teachers discussed the various performing arts opportunities throughout the year and introduced the student choreographers for the upper school dance production as well as the four student directors for the Student Directed Showcase. After the kickoff meeting, freshmen and sophomores interested in joining the conservatory’s certificate program were invited to stay to attend a short informational meeting.
