Members of Interact sold Pinkberry frozen yogurt and pizookies this week for their club week. “It’s Interact’s club week, and we’re supporting our international cause, which is protecting Syrian refugees. This was a communal project that we all decided upon in our districts in all of Interact,” Sarah Tien (12), one of Interact Club’s presidents, said.

Harker’s Interact Club sold Pinkberry frozen yogurt in support of protecting and aiding Syrian refugees this week in front of Manzanita Hall.

Harker’s Interact Club, along with the other Interact Clubs of high schools nationwide, is sponsored by the service organization Rotary International and holds projects each year to help their school or community. This year’s project, named “Me the Human,” raises awareness for and provides assistance to Syrian refugees through various humanitarian organizations, such as the International Rescue Committee and IRC 20/20. Such institutions often supply clothing, protection services and healthcare to those who need aid in Syria.

Interact members sold four flavors of Pinkberry for $5 per scoop during lunch and after school this week. On Friday, the club sold pizookies from BJ’s along with frozen yogurt. With these products, Interact raised a total of $858 to donate to humanitarian aid organizations and contribute to efforts to help Syrian refugees.

“It’s Interact’s club week and we’re supporting our international cause, which is protecting Syrian refugees. This was a communal project that we all decided upon in our districts in all of Interact,” Sarah Tien (12), one of Interact Club’s presidents, said. “Pinkberry usually sells really well, especially since it’s getting hotter this week. Hopefully, people become more aware of us, as well as being able to enjoy some Pinkberry.”

Green Team’s club week next week will be the last one of this school year.
