The Warriors celebrate winning game six of the second round of playoffs in 2014 against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors are currently winning 2-0 in the first round of playoffs for the 2014-2015 season.

As the Golden State Warriors enter Round One of the 2014-15 NBA Playoffs, the team has left behind a regular season filled with new records.

The team ended its regular season with a franchise-best 67-15 record, as opposed to its 51-31 season last year. The Warriors also claimed its first Pacific Division title since 1976. The team tied for the sixth best record in NBA history for its regular season.

First time Head Coach Steve Kerr set a record himself in his first season coaching in the NBA–according to NBA.com, he “won more games that any first-year head coach in league history.”

Shooting star Stephen Curry broke his own record from last season for most number of three-pointers made in a single season; with 272 three-pointers last season, Curry has already made 290 so far.

According to some top sports news sites such as sportsillustrated.com, some members of its staff predict that the Warriors will face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals and beat them in six games, gaining the Warriors’ first title since 1975.

Avid Warriors fan Alex Mo (10) discusses his team’s past season.

“My predictions, of course, are that they will win the playoffs. The most exciting part of this past season has been the amount of success we have had,” he said. “It really feels like every few games, the Dubs [Warriors] are breaking new records. I have been a fan for over eight years.”

After losing to the Los Angeles Clippers in last year’s first round of the playoffs, the Warriors are currently 2-0 in its first round matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. The next scheduled game is in New Orleans on Thursday, April 23.
