Varsity girls volleyball defeats Castilleja
Captain Shreya Dixit (12) goes up to hit. The team beat Castilleja 3-0.
The girls’ varsity volleyball team defeated Castilleja High School at home on Nov. 4.
Winning three sets out of five with scores of 25-11, 25-21 and 25-23, the team dominated throughout the entire match.
The girls had beaten the Castilleja Gators in a previous league game in October and looked to continue their win streak in an effort to win the league championship.
Jackie Chen (11) was selected as Player of the Match. Captain Shreya Dixit (12) and Jackie tied for having the most kills during the game, with ten a piece.
This win allows Harker to remain the top team in the WBAL league, tied for first with Menlo. With a season record of 15-8 and a league record of 8-1, the girls look to make a deep run in the CCS tournament in upcoming weeks.
Senior night, honoring seniors Shreya Dixit and Katy Sanchez, will take place on Nov. 6 at the Blackford Gym.
