Boys’ basketball advances to CCS semi-finals

The Eagles warm-up before the game they won against Soquel High School to advance to the semi-finals.

The boys’ basketball team will advance to CCS semi-finals after beating Soquel High School 49-42 on Saturday.

At the end of the first quarter, the team was down 7-11. There was no major scoring in the second quarter, and at halftime the score was 17-21. The third quarter featured a similar score losing score.

During the fourth quarter, the team turned the game around, out-shooting Soquel 21-2. The final score of the game was 49-42.

The player of the game was awarded to Nicholas Nguyen (11) for leading the team in assists and steals. Additionally, he scored three free throws in the final minute that secured the eagle victory.

Teammate Eric Holt (11) scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds. This is the second time in Harker history that the team had advanced to the semi-finals of CCS.

The team will travel to Menlo to play Seaside High School at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow for the CCS semi-finals.
