Spirit Club officers led the first meeting of the year during long lunch on Wednesday, September 19. They discussed goals and specific plans for future spirit activities.

On Wednesday, September 19, the Spirit Club held its first meeting of the year at the beginning of long lunch.

During the short meeting, the club officials gave an overview of the upcoming projects to the new members of the club as well as for returning spirit members who did not make it to Gym Jam in August.

The officers of the club spoke about aspirations for the new school year.

“My goal this year is to make [the transition] as easy as possible for the next president because it’s going to be someone either with very little experience or someone who’s just becoming an upperclassman, so I just need to try and be organized and make it as easy as I can for next year,” Spirit Club President Andre Tran (12) said.

The club discussed this year’s homecoming theme, Disney movies, and began to plan out the week’s activities. Homecoming week will be only four days long this year since there is no school on Monday, October 29, which is Fall break day.

Many members of the club expressed their enthusiasm for the club’s future events.

“I’m excited for the rallies, the spirit events, the dances, and definitely homecoming,” Spirit Club member Christina Andrus (10) said.

The officers also discussed information about the new spirit t-shirts and reviewed the group’s expectations, such as attending spirit events and dances to show support for the club.

The Spirit Club will cover more ideas about future spirit plans during the following meeting, next Wednesday.
