The Varsity Boys lost against Pinewood 38-66 at the Blackford gym yesterday.

After Pinewood won the tip-off, they quickly gained a lead, ending the first quarter with Harker behind 6-21. Harker fought hard in the second quarter to bring the score to 23-38 at halftime.

During halftime, the cheerleaders performed a quick routine, cheering on the team. The score after the third quarter was 29-57. Harker refused to give up, pulling the score up to 38-66 by the end of the game.

Jeffrey Liu (9), one of two freshmen who made it on the team, is confident that the team could have played better.

“We didn’t [play] to our best potential in my opinion.” Jeffrey said. “We played decent at best, and we have a lot of things to still work on. This game we focused on defense, which I think was short of [the Pinewood team] because they shot a lot of 3-pointers and they made a lot of shots.”

The boys will play their next game against Sacred Heart Preparatory School this Friday at Sacred Heart.
