“If you could fly before you even knew how to walk, wouldn't that be sad? Literally, as a kid, I learned how to run before I could walk. So I was running into walls everywhere. And figuratively, I've experienced that throughout my whole life. Running into walls, trying to do the complicated stuff because it was so fascinating before I could do the fundamental stuff. And being able to learn from that was definitely important to me," Spencer Mak (12) said.

“You can build anything with circuits — an electronic coffee machine, a robot arm, these are all kinds of things you can do. Once you understand the fundamentals and learn the basic strategies or techniques, you can build anything you want, design anything you want. Maybe it doesn’t work, then you see why it doesn’t work and you see each version getting better than the previous version, and eventually you will have that robot arm,” Matthew Goetting (12) said.

“I found myself kind of confused on where to start and how to proceed with astronomy research. I had a research mentor who told me to not worry about the different directions people have taken the research, and just try to tell a story. I think approaching it from a storytelling lens has helped me overcome the fact that so many other people are doing this research," Dhruv Trivedi (12) said.

Football is a game of discipline and always knowing your role and what to do,” Daniel Lin (12) said.
