This is Aquila Weekly Wrap-Up, where we bring you the latest updates from around our school community.
Saturday
Harker Model U.N. hosted PanMUN, a Model U.N. conference for schools across the Bay Area. Around 100 students came to Harker for a day of committee sessions and activities run by Harker Model U.N. officers.
The seventh annual Girls Programming League, run by Harker Programming Club, invited female and nonbinary participants to a two-hour coding contest and a speaker panel of women experts in computer science and astronomy over Zoom.
The first ever high school Startup World Cup Regional Event, a global pitch competition, debuted at Harker. Six student companies competed for $1000 and a shot at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale, and networked with professionals and other entrepreneurs.
Monday
The upper school celebrated Honor Week from Monday through Thursday, with daily activities focused on the four tenets of respect, personal accountability, integrity and kindness, organized by the Honor Council.
Thursday
Tug-of-war participants from all grades gathered on Davis field during lunch to prepare for Tuesday’s tug-of-war preliminary round, where students will battle for spirit points.
During Spirit Night, students finished painting their class eagles, which will be judged next Tuesday. HSLT also ran a karaoke booth in front of Manzanita.
