On Wednesday, over 150 students attended a meeting about the Synopsys Science Fair to discuss application requirements and guidelines. Science department chair Anita Chetty outlined new procedures to ensure scientific integrity in research.
On Thursday, DECA hosted their Mentor & Events Fair in the Innovation Center, where new members learned about various competition events in DECA and spoke with upperclassmen DECA competitors.
Students also attended a professional house dance workshop, taught by dancer and choreographer Jayvin Lee.
Football opened their season with a home game against the Cornerstone Christian Cougars, losing 30-44. At the game, students dressed up in neon colors to show their spirit and support for the team.
On Friday, Harker’s Association of Young Physicists had its first meeting of the year. Attendees learned about and began preparing for the US Invitational Young Physicists Tournament, a national research and debate competition that aims to solve real-world problems.
Auditions for the Dance Production were held after school in the RPAC theater, with over 120 participants. The show will take place in January with the theme of “Love.”
