Beat Generation author Neal Cassady’s daughter visits English class

Jami Cassady Ratto, who is the daughter of Beat Generation author Neal Cassady, visited English teacher Charles Shuttleworth’s Kerouac and the Beat Generation class yesterday during fourth period to speak about various aspects and nuances of the Beat Generation authors’ work and lives.
Cassady Ratto and her husband, Randy Ratto, spoke about Cassady’s life and their work with the Neal Cassady Estate, giving students anecdotes and firsthand accounts of the Beat Generation authors’ lives. Juniors in Period 4 AP U.S. History were invited to attend Cassady Ratto’s lecture as well.
