Breakthrough actor and rapper Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, took a step away from the conventional black-and-white suit and chose instead to wear a brown suede Gucci tuxedo along with a matching bowtie. The unique outfit was a fitting choice for the multi-talented Glover, who received the honor of Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for his starring role in the acclaimed FX show “Atlanta.”

Shondaland star Viola Davis made a statement on the red carpet in a custom-made lemon-yellow tulle gown embellished with thousands of sequins. Later that night, Davis delivered a heartfelt speech dedicated to her father while accepting the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her moving performance in the Denzel Washington drama “Fences.”

The ever-sexy Ryan Gosling stepped onto the red carpet in an elegant Gucci suit and white jacket ornamented with a striking red boutonniere. Gosling won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his portrayal of jazz musician Sebastian in the feel-good, tune-filled film “La La Land,” which took home a record-breaking five awards that night.

Two-time Globe winner Amy Adams stunned in a sophisticated metallic strapless dress from celebrated designer and director Tom Ford. Despite not receiving any nominations, “The Shallows” star Blake Lively made several headlines after she appeared on the red carpet in a velvet, mermaid-style gown gilded with silver pockets and a shimmering hooded neckline.
