The Regeneron Science Talent Search named nine seniors in its top 300 scholars list yesterday in an online post.

The Regeneron Science Talent Search, formerly known as the Intel Science Talent Search, is a competition for high school seniors to submit their science research projects. The top 300 submitters are named scholars, formerly called semifinalists.

Nine seniors were named scholars this year: Kai-Siang Ang, Angela Kim, Sandip Nirmel, Srivatsav Pyda, Evani Radiya-Dixit, Venkat Sankar, Manan Shah, Scott Song and Arjun Subramaniam.
Each of the 300 scholars is awarded $2,000, and each scholar’s school is awarded $2,000, representing $1.2 million of a total 3.1 million dollars in award money.

Of the 300 scholars, 40 finalists will be named on Jan. 24.
