Student council has privatized access to the ping pong and foosball tables at Shah to seniors only for each given year.
NHS will hold a community service fair in the Nichols Atrium this Thursday after Advisory.
SDS staged readings will take place today during long lunch in Ms. Lang-Ree’s room. Auditions will be held on Oct. 3 and 4, and call-backs will be held on Oct. 5.
Next week is Oeconomia’s club week. The club will sell food and host competitions for students. The club also encourages students to submit articles for their economic journal. Students of all grades, regardless of experience with economics, are eligible to submit articles about anything relating to economics.
CareerConnect will be hosting a professional photo shoot on Thursday.
TedxHarkerSchool will take place on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature seven speakers, ranging from an economics professor to a piano prodigy.
The sophomore class will begin their bake sale during advisories this week.
Trisha Dwivedi, Managing Editor of Harker Aquila, and Alex Youn, Editor-in-Chief of the Talon yearbook, made an announcement reminding seniors to respond to reporters’ emails regarding interviews for the Humans of Harker project. Alex also reminded seniors to log into the Prestige Portraits portal to select the senior portrait they wish to be featured in the yearbook.
Early bird pricing ends on Sept. 29 for senior ads in the yearbook. Yearbook staff will hold a raffle for free yearbooks on Oct. 21. The raffle will pick a student from each class and a faculty member to win a free yearbook.
Winter sports coaches will hold information meetings before the seasons start.
Boys JV basketball meet today at 1 p.m. in the Quad. Boys soccer will have a meeting today at 1 p.m. at the Davis Field bleachers. Girls Basketball meet today at 1 p.m. at the Saratoga conference room near the Main front desk area. Girls soccer will hold a meeting next Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Davis Field bleachers. Wrestling will have a meeting on Monday Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Saratoga conference room. Official winter sport practices will begin on Monday Oct. 31, and the parent meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Blackford Multipurpose Room from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Spirit will show Ferris Bueller’s Day Off at a movie night this Thursday in the auditorium. Spirit is also organizing a trip for students to attend Halloween Haunt.
