This is Aquila Weekly Wrap-Up, where we bring you the latest updates from around our school community.
Monday
A record 26 students participated in the annual Poetry Out Loud recitation contest in the Nichols Auditorium. Senior Eric Zhang and junior Daniel Miao won first and second place, respectively, and will participate in the Santa Clara County competition. Sophomore Abigail Sachse and junior Holly Templeton won third place and honorable mention, respectively.
Wednesday
Art Club hosted the first session in their three-part candle making workshops. Students worked with clay to create ceramic candle holders.
Students bought Valentine Grams for their friends during lunch on Monday and Wednesday, with each gift containing a cake pop and a handwritten note. All proceeds will be donated to the World Central Kitchen for the recent Los Angeles fires.
Friday
Juniors reconnected with their fourth grade Eagle Buddies for the program’s Clown Day in the Zhang Gymnasium, while seniors watched the fifth graders’ musical “Joust” at Bucknall.
The annual Dance Production had its opening night on Friday, featuring over 100 students and nine student-choreographed dances. Dancers performed hip-hop, contemporary and tap routines with the theme of “All You Need is Love.”
