This is Aquila Weekly Wrap Up, where we bring you the latest updates from around our school community.
Monday
Throughout the week, Flight Crew hosted Destress Week to help students relax before finals, offering lunch-time activities like playing badminton.
Students also decorated hallways in Manzanita, Dobbins, Nichols and Shah with winter-themed adornments for the Winter Walk-through competition, which is replacing the window-painting activity in previous years.
The Winter Wishes initiative allowed students to write kind notes to peers and teachers, which will be delivered with a sweet treat.
Thursday
The annual gingerbread building competition invited all grades to compete in building the best gingerbread house for spirit points. The seniors, juniors, sophomores and frosh won first, second, third and fourth place, respectively.
Math teacher Caren Furtado, physics teacher Miriam Allersma, computer science teacher Anu Datar and chemistry teacher Ran Tao spoke about their journeys through their respective fields at a WiSTEM speaker panel during lunch.
Friday
Winterfest welcomed students with holiday festivities ranging from karaoke to cookie decorating at Manzanita Hall on Friday. Students participated in arts and crafts such as slime and ornament making and sang Christmas songs.
Saturday
The upper school Winter Instrumental Concert opened with performances from Lab Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra.
That’s all for this week. See you next time!
