For the week of March 26 to March 30, the Upper School administration has mandated a set order for testing days for each subject.
In response to the stress that many students feel during the week before breaks as tests pile up before vacations, the faculty will be following a testing order. Teachers are only authorized to arrange assessments on their given day.
“Students and advisors have said that the week before breaks are getting tough,” said Upper School Division Head Butch Keller. He describes this experiment as an “attempt to even out assessment distribution for students.”
Due to the fact that each subject has its specific testing day, students will be able to plan out their week accordingly as a result of the even exam distribution.
This assigned order is a one time trial and will not necessarily be followed for future weeks before breaks, as Keller said that certain teachers had to make specific adjustments to their teaching plan in order to follow the mandated test schedule.
Students are encouraged to share feedback with their advisors in order to determine how successful the mandated schedule proves to be.
