During lunch on Wednesday March 21, Upper School students participated in a musical chairs spirit event.
Just like an ordinary game of musical chairs, players would walk around the chairs placed in a circle and wait until the music stopped. Because there was always one less chair than the number of people playing, each round would come down to two students fighting for possession of one chair.
Twenty-four students participated, with six students from each class.
The freshmen class’ hopes of winning ended with their last participant, David Lin, was eliminated.
The final deciding round, coming down to seniors Dylan Qian and Bradley Araki and sophomore Monika Lee.
“I think it was great that I made it to the final round, but I’m disappointed that I couldn’t think of a way to beat the two seniors teamed up against me,” Monika said.
Bradley enjoyed the competition overall. “[My favorite part was] when the seniors won
and utterly annihilated the inexperienced underclassmen,” he said. “If underclassmen want to win, they need to seriously devote time to becoming more bonded and knowing how to play as a team. I believe that that was the cause of their downfall.”
The competition resulted in the senior victory, sophomores in second, juniors in third, and freshman placing last.
