Smoke over San Jose from the Camp Fire in Butte County.

Due to the unhealthy air quality in San Jose, which is currently recorded at an index of 159, some teachers will be moving their parent-student-teacher conferences tomorrow and on Tuesday to alternate locations in order to minimize exposure to dangerous particulate matter outdoors.

Students with teachers whose conferences have been relocated, which includes some teachers in Nichols, received an email about the change. Students and parents are advised to stay indoors as much as possible, especially when waiting between conferences, to limit the health effects of the smoke in the air from the Camp Fire in Butte County.
