At least 12 killed in Thousand Oaks shooting
November 9, 2018
At least 12 people, including several college students and a county sheriff’s sergeant, were shot and killed when a gunman entered the crowded Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks in Ventura County during the bar’s “college night” on Wednesday.
The gunman, identified by police as 28-year-old Ian David Long, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, was found dead there, and the motives for the shooting are unknown. It is unclear whether he shot himself or police shot him after they arrived on the scene.
Pepperdine University let students decide whether to attend Thursday and Friday classes, and California Lutheran University cancelled classes completely.
