School meeting recap 9/27

Harker Journalism played a video featuring photos of students participating in various spirit activities, including the blindfolded art competition and the Homecoming game, taken last week.
Assistant Head of School Greg Lawson announced that there will be an earthquake drill this week and reminded students to duck and cover, instead of run outside, during earthquakes.
History teachers hosting next week’s Shah Salons played a video discussing their topics. The first Shah Salons will be next Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in their respective hosts’ classrooms.
The Food Committee reminded students to properly dispose of chopstick sleeves when using chopsticks at lunch.
Shania Wang (11) and Avi Gulati (10) announced that student council will be hosting multiple “Quadchellas” throughout the year. Students and teachers will have the opportunity to sign up for and showcase their talents during select Friday lunches’ Quadchellas. The first Quadchella will be on Nov. 3. More information about the program and signups are available at tiny.cc/quadchella.
Harker Athletics gave a short update about games this past week and encouraged students and faculty to support the teams at upcoming games this week.
Director of Learning, Innovation and Design Diane Main and production manager Brian Larsen faced off against each other in another game of “Name That Tune.” Main correctly named three songs, while Larsen correctly named one.
