On Tuesday, December 6, sophomores received notes from their Lower School Eagle Buddies during their class meeting.
Victor Adler, the 2014 class dean, handed out the letters that were separated by alphabetical order. Class officers attempted to coordinate the eager class as sophomores crowded around to receive letters from their buddies.
There were various themes and comments included, though the letters focused primarily on the third-grade holiday show.
Many students in the class of 2014 were grateful that their eagle buddies took the time to write a heart-felt letter before the winter break, and appreciated affectionate comments including “miss you” or “hope to see you soon.”
“I was really excited to receive a letter from my eagle buddy,” said sophomore Sean Knudsen. “It did take my mind off finals.”
Although unexpected, the eagle buddy letters were a welcome respite for the class during their last week before final exams.
The sophomore’s last meeting with their third-grade buddies took place nearly two months ago, when the sophomores visited the Bucknall campus. Their next meeting, according to program founder Carol Zink, will be a January pajama visit.
