On Tuesday, October 25, the Varsity girls’ volleyball team defeated Pinewood in a 3-set match at the Blackford gym.
The team now has a 9-1 league record, which they attribute to strong defense and powerful kills.
Divya Kalidindhi (10) had 7 kills in the game and Shreya Dixit (9) had 6, in their three wins of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-16.
According to co-captain Aura Dave (12), though the team had solid defense, in order to succeed on senior night they need to improve their serving.
Because this was their last game before senior night, the team wanted to try their best to prepare for the upcoming game. With the season coming to a close, the team hopes to finish strong.
“The kids played very well today, [but] senior night is going to be a big match,” head coach Theresa “Smitty” Smith said.
The team will be playing Priory High School on Thursday for their senior night.
