Varsity football lost a tough game Friday night 20-62 against the visiting Cochrane High School of Alberta, Canada.
Early action in the first half included quarterback Zach Ellenberg (12) completing a 36 yard pass to Neel Salukhe (12), which led to the Eagles’ first touchdown of the game. Other highlights included an interception by David Fang, setting up a 51 yard catch for a touchdown by Rahul Madduluri, and Daanish Jamal’s interception at the goal line.
The second half brought a stronger game from the Cobras, widening the score gap quickly. However, Jamal caught a long pass from Ellenberg and ran 22 yards for a touchdown. Madduluri had another rushing touchdown that was called back on a penalty. In total, Ellenberg had 272 passing yards on the game.
Junior varsity, who played the Cochrane JV earlier in the evening, also lost a difficult game with a score of 0-35.
