Director of Instructional Technology and senior advisor, Daniel Hudkins, will cut his hair to fundraise for Locks of Love during the senior class meeting on Tuesday.

Students can purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to snip off a portion of Hudkins’ ponytail. Tickets can be purchased from Avik Wadhwa (12), Srivinay Irrinki (12), and the Class of 2015 Dean, Diana Moss.

The ponytail traces its origins back to a conversation Hudkins had with his advisory in May 2012. After asking some of his advisees what they would like to change in advisory for the next year, Hudkins received the suggestion to grow a ponytail. Other ideas included shaving his beard and getting a tattoo.

“My wife will be thrilled to have it gone,” he said. “She never liked it.”

Hudkins originally intended to cut the ponytail during the senior trip in May, but decided to move it forwards at the request of his advisory.
