On Tuesday, April 26, the Varsity boys’ volleyball team won 3-0 over league rival Saratoga High School to emerge victorious on senior night.
The team celebrated its seniors, captains Jacob Chappell (12) and Zach Mank (12), as well as Roger Lee (12). According to head coach Daniel Molin, the seniors are the best group he has ever coached.
“They are a very special group. Very special to the program,” said Molin. After a brief introduction by their coach, the seniors presented bouquets of flowers to their families.
But, when the game started, the seniors and their coach were all business, winning in three sets, 25-13, 25-19, and 25-21. Molin started all three seniors, with Chappell, recording 12 kills and 4 blocks, and Mank with 7 kills and 4 blocks, and Lee with one of each.
The game was not only a win for the team, but also fun for all the players, especially the seniors.
“Although we could have played better, we still had a great night. It wasn’t as much of an impact, as senior night is [earlier than it usually is], but it was still pretty nice to have a crowd,” said Mank.
