In its final game of the season, the girls’ Varsity lacrosse team beat Sacred Heart Cathedral 13-7. Before the game, a ceremony was held to honor the seniors for their Senior night.

The ceremony celebrated the seniors on both teams. Upper School seniors recognized were Christine Lee, Brinda Perumal, Mabel Luo, Alicia Clark, Maya Madhavan, Nikkan Ghosh, and Mary Liu.

Within the first few minutes of the game, the Eagles took the lead with goals from Mabel Luo (12) and Hannah Bollar (11). Throughout the game, Mabel scored 5 goals and Hannah scored 6. Allison Kiang (11) had two.

“It was amazing. We all did so well,” Mabel said. “We all played our best, and Christine was amazing.”

Christine Lee plays goalie for the lacrosse team and blocked numerous shots throughout the game.

In a previous game against Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Eagles lost 9-12.

“It was such a great way to end the season, it was like out of a movie,” Head Coach Andrew Irvine said. “We had been neck and neck [with Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory]. When we played them last, we were kind of sluggish. There were some kinks to work out, we were all the way up in san francisco it was too cold and too windy. They came down to our house and we stomped them. I mean those girls played their hearts out.”

Shreya Sunkara (10), another member of the lacrosse team, agreed with Irvine.

“I think this was one of the best we as a team have ever played,” she said. “Irvine always talks about personally victories and how those should be our goals for each game, but I really felt like this was the first game where we had a really good team victory.”

The team finished the season with a league record of 5-3.
