Students Earn CJCL Ludi Awards
Upper school students recently competed in the Northern California, California Junior Classical League (CJCL) Ludi event winning a total of 20 ribbon awards.
Students competed in categories such as Latin Grammar, Latin Reading Comprehension, Greek and Roman Mythology, and Latin/Greek Derivatives. There were a total of eight first places, four second places, four third places, and four honorable mentions awarded to Upper School students.
Here are the first place winners:
Serena Wang (11) took first place in Latin/Greek Derivatives and Reading Comprehension. Elisabeth Siegel (10) and Helena Huang (12) tied for first in Mythology. Kevin Duraiswamy (12) and Maya Nandakumar (11) tied for first in Reading Comprehension. Kevin also placed first in Grammar and Vocabulary.
Other winners included Winifred Li (9), Grace Park (9), Kaushik Sankar (10), Sophia Shatas (11), Richard Gu (11), and Rishabh Chandra (10).
