Keller’s Korner – October 4
Events of the week included Eagle Buddies, Life sessions, and the Honors and Ethics Conference.
“Anytime there is an Eagle Buddies event, it is one of my favorite. I love to see the interaction between the high school kids and the lower school students,” said Head of the Upper School Butch Keller. “The LIFE schedule this week should have been very informative for the juniors and seniors, and for the freshmen I walked through a lot of advisories and they were laughing and having a great time so my assumption is that was good for everyone. It’s good to laugh and have fun like that.”
The sophomores had the opportunity to travel to Bucknall to meet their Eagle Buddies for the first time this week. Meanwhile, the juniors listened to a presentation by Diane Main, the Assistant Director of Instructional Technology and the seniors practiced “power breathing” with the Youth Empowerment Seminar (YES) board. The freshmen had the opportunity to spend more time bonding with their advisories through various games.

“The Honors and Ethics Conference is a pivotal thing that we do every other year for our student body. It’s very informative and very eye-opening for many people, so the time and effort and energy that is put in is very rewarding.”
This year’s Honors and Ethics Conference, hosted by Honor Council and National Honors Society, was held on Friday. A member of each advisory gathered to discuss various ethics cases. They will take what they learned back to their advisory this coming Thursday.
