Groups of students dressed in similar outfits competed in a three-legged race during both lunches today, marking the second day of Spirit Week: Twin Day.
Students were encouraged to earn spirit points for their class by coordinating outfits with another and checking in during lunch. Students could check in either by signing in with their twin or by showing a picture of the two together.
Several students dressed according to the theme, with some matching more than others. While many students coordinated shirt colors and wore jeans, several matched exact outfits, with a few going as far as to replicate hairstyles and shoes.
Among the students who dressed up was Leeza Kuo (10), who went all-out by completely matching outfits with Hannah Bollar (10). The duo showed up in club volleyball socks, bright pink school volleyball t-shirts, tights and matching shorts.
“We planned out our outfits last week, and we sent each other pictures of our outfits to confirm,” Leeza said, describing their elaborate plan.
A three legged race class competition took place on Rosenthal field, with one team, consisting of a number of pairs, competing from each class. The pairs had to run to a bench on the opposite side of the field and come back, before the next pair could follow the same procedure.
The juniors placed first in both fifth and sixth lunch in an intense race filled with fumbles, falls, and cheers.
Spirit Week continues tomorrow with the theme “Mathletes and Athletes,” along with the PowderPuff taking place during long lunch.
