The Oscars: Pinnacle of fashion
February 26, 2013
The annual Oscars held on Sunday, February 24 provided celebrities not only with awards and honors, but also with the chance to display their sense of fashion to the world.
Among the many actresses who arrived on the red carpet, these six beauties stunned everyone with their risky choices of gowns and jewelry.
1. Jessica Chastain: 5/5
After audiences across America became mesmerized by Jessica Chastain’s acting skills, the actress did not fail to impress with her dazzling Armani gown. Ornate sequins and beads were placed in patterns around her dress that accentuated her subtle orange hair color, leaving no need for much jewelry.
2. Anne Hathaway: 5/5
Oscar winner Anne Hathaway looked fresh and sweet in a structured pink dress. Hathaway’s outfit also consisted of eye-catching jewelry with a stunning diamond necklace as the focal point.
3. Naomi Watts: 4/5
Although Naomi Watts lost her award to Jennifer Lawrence, this actress turned heads on the red carpet Sunday night with a flashy silver-sequinned gown. As her body was covered in hundreds of sparkly pieces, Watts simply wore small earrings to complement her outfit.
4. Jennifer Lawrence: 4/5
Jennifer Lawrence, who won the “Best Actress” award for her acting in Silver Linings Playbook, captivated the audience in a beautiful white dress from Dior Couture. Though she fell on her way up the stage, her style and fashion sense certainly did not. As an edgy addition to her outfit, Lawrence wore a long necklace, but unlike normal jeweled chains, the actress pushed the necklace back to hang on her back.
5. Amanda Seyfried: 4/5
Looking gorgeous as always, Amanda Seyfried stunned viewers in a lace and flower gown inspired by the 90’s. Diamond studs and an elegant hairstyle were all of the accessories Seyfried needed to add to her delicate look.
6. Kristen Stewart: 3/5
Kristen Stewart also looked charming in a cream-colored dress with jeweled flower decorations. A diamond necklace enhanced her entire outfit but did not distract from the bottom of her dress, which appeared to be shredded.
