Interact club celebrates pi day with sweets
In honor of pi day, Interact Club sold home-made pizookies and other sweets throughout the day today to top off its week of sales.
“Pi Day is something special and we want to do something different, so we thought it would be cool to sell giant cookies,” Interact Club co-president Dora Tzeng (12) said.
Pie-shaped cookies and ice cream were sold today along with frozen yogurt and various types of cookies, including chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. Proceeds will go to Interact’s International Project, which will help buy solar-powered ovens for women in Afghanistan.
“Pi day was cool today since it’s not really a specific holiday, but it’s still something to celebrate,” John Hughes (12) said. “It was also pretty cool having frozen yogurt there since it brought everyone together and we didn’t have to worry about studying.”
The club sold a total of 60 tubs of frozen yogurt by the end of the week.
