The Silicon Valley has been the subject of many movies in Hollywood. Here is a list of the five most popular movies about the Silicon Valley.
1.”The Social Network”
Nominated for awards at the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards, The Social Network portrays the creation of Facebook. Andrew Garfield, Jessie Eisenberg, and Justin Timberlake star in this movie that gained widespread popularity in 2010.
2. “Palo Alto”
Based on James Franco’s short story collection “Palo Alto” and directed by Gia Coppola, Palo Alto is a movie that portrays how April, a teenage girl, becomes romantically involved with Mr. B, her soccer coach, and Fred, one of her friends. This film, which included actors such as Emma Roberts and James Franco, received 3.5 stars on Rotten Tomatoes and 3 stars on IMDb.
3. “Jobs”
Similar to The Social Network, Jobs chronicles the formation of Apple Inc. in the Silicon Valley. Ashton Kutcher’s portrayal of Steve Jobs aptly represents this innovator’s journey to changing the world of technology with his devices.
4. “Something Ventured”
Selected for the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival, Something Ventured is widely acclaimed film that describes the emergence of the venture capitalist industry in the American economy. This film portrays the role of venture capitalists in the making of companies such as Apple and Google with special appearances by these capitalists themselves.
5. “Silicon Valley (the TV series)”
This television series follows six men as they found a start-up company, focused on creating apps, in the Silicon Valley. HBO has renewed this series for its second season as of April 2014.
