Many celebrities hit the red carpet on May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Gala. From Dior to Calvin Klein, almost every designer had a dress to show. A recurring theme for dresses was floor-length gowns. Prom season has arrived, and many of these outfits can be used as inspiration for a perfect prom dress.

“Hunger Games” actress Jennifer Lawrence wore a floor-length Dior dress. The dress was black from the waist down but had a flowered top, with a cutout between the two sections. She wore silver jewelry to accessorize her dress and wore her hair up in a bun.

Guess model Gigi Hadid wore a red, floor-length dress with a deep v-neck and lace embroidery on the top. The DVF dress also had a slit up her left leg. She matched her shoes to her dress, wearing red, strappy high-heels.

Selena Gomez wore a long, white Vera Wang dress. The black straps were connected to tassels and beads, which draped down the front of the dress. The dress had a triangular cutout above the stomach and a back cutout. She wore a white, flowered crown to match her dress.

Cara Delevingne did not go the traditional route and opted for a Stella McCartney black pantsuit. The pantsuit had three cutouts and a beaded top. For her makeup, she chose to do a smokey eye with nude lipstick.

Kendall Jenner dressed in a green, sequined, high-neck dress. The sides of the Calvin Klein dress had crossed strings, keeping the front and back of the dresses together.

Emily Blunt chose a blue color-scheme for her outfit. She wore a long, light blue, flowered Prada dress with a dark blue, sequined cape. She accessorized her outfit with a dark blue clutch and long, dangly earrings.

Justin Bieber wore a Balmain suit, composed of black pants, a black shirt and a black jacket with gold embroidery. He further added to his look with black sunglasses.

Colin Firth wore a classic black and white suit with a white rose in his pocket and an extra pair of gloves in his hand.

Though all of the celebrities’ looks were unique, each was equally fashionable and can be used as inspiration for a prom dress.
