After four months Mr. Triefenbach returns to campus

Four surgeries, four months. Computer Science teacher Fred Triefenbach came back to school on Monday, May 28, after undergoing surgery and rehabilitation on his knees.
He was looking forward to coming back to school, having been, as he put it, “staring at the same four walls for almost four months.”
“It’s great to be back where I can see students again,” he said. “Being in an environment like that of Harker is fantastic.”
His original surgery was in March of 2009. Following the operation, he was walking and seemingly healthy until in October he felt something was wrong. Going back to his doctor, he found out that there was an infection in his right knee.
From there, he had two more surgeries: one on February 1 and the second on February 3. He is on antibiotics until June 9 when he hopes to be completely free of medications and complications.
Triefenbach said, “It has been a tough, long road to recovery, and I am glad to be back.”
