Harker Aquila

Derek Yen
Derek Yen (11) is the STEM Editor for both Harker Aquila and the Winged Post. Having been on staff for three years, his favorite part of journalism is the feeling of triumph after securing a hard interview, like the successful angler who lands a storied catch. As an avid follower of the sciences, he hopes to expand the prevalence of STEM longforms. Outside of journalism, he competes in Quizbowl tournaments, does science research, writes short stories, and enjoys learning about both economic game theory and video game design theory.
