Winter sports seasons draw to a close

As the spring athletics season kicks off, winter athletes enter the final stretch of their seasons, involving CCS, playoffs and final league standings.

Varsity boys basketball is currently 2-9 in league and 7-14 overall. The boys have their first round of CCS on Feb. 21 and CCS playoffs begin on Feb. 25.

“I have a lot of feelings about it, but mostly a sense of urgency now with each game,” varsity captain Justin Jia (12) said. “I really want to make these last ones fun and hope we can finish strong so that at least we’ll be better next year.”

Varsity girls basketball is currently 5-5 in league and 12-10 overall. The girls have their first round of CCS on Feb. 21 and CCS playoffs begin on Feb. 25.

Varsity girls soccer is currently 7-3 in league and 10-4-1 overall. The boys have their first round of CCS on Feb. 21 and CCS playoffs begin on Feb. 25.

Varsity boys soccer is currently 5-3-1 in league and 8-6-1 overall. The girls have their first round of CCS on Feb. 21 and CCS playoffs begin on Feb. 25.

Wrestling is currently 3-2 in league and has competed in tournaments such as the Webber Lawson Invitational and the Overfelt Wrestling Classic. The team is currently participating in the SCVAL league tournament this weekend at Fremont High School. Teams members will compete in the CCS Championships on Feb. 24 and 25.
